My water company is so asinine about bill payments. For one they charge a flat $3.50 fee for any payment made with a credit or debit card.

Then, due to some screwy state law, they have to actually bill the fee separately from my monthly amount so my account gets hit for say, $60 and then $3.50. Sometimes the charges clear a day apart which can be a pain when money is tight.

The fee should not be there for debit cards. Or they should offer an online ACH payment option without any fees.
