Once a cesspool for racism, always one. NR hasn’t changed since Buckley was waxing poetic about why the Jim Crow South must succeed.

Strange coincidence: I was just leafing through some old NYT Book Reviews,and found one from last November reviewing a book focusing on WFB’s famous Cambridge debate with James Baldwin in 1965. And yeah, not much has changed. Except maybe that today’s NR hacks don’t have have Buckley’s intellectual grounding. Not that he used it for much other than apologetics for racism, though……
