It’s not a bad idea in general but I think he’s totally underestimating the amount of work it takes to grow enough to feed yourself and your family. Getting yourself 2 to 5 acres of plantable land is the easy part.

A bud of mine did ag in college and said with high efficiency best case a 1/4 acre can support a human. I forget if he’s talking vegetables/meat or just vegetables.
