Unfortunately, that is not the definition of a Christian. Christians believe in the divinity of Christ, and Muslims deny this. That is a simple and irrefutable fact, but somehow I expect to be downdinged for this simple observation.

By the logic of his statement, then, he is not a Christian. But we already knew that, didn’t we?
