The purpose of Zionism was to be self-governed. Going knocking at the door of anti-Semitic nations begging for some land was not considered as a strategy for some reason.

Where do you get this idea that Jewish refugees in the 1940s could have picked anywhere in the world to go? And if that’s what you imagine, why didn’t they try it before the Shoah?
