People might better ask why there’s a bust of De Gaulle at the D-Day memorial (if there is one) than why there’s one of Stalin.
The French contribution to the demise of the Nazis was minimal compared to that of the Russians.
By the end of the war they had upwards of 1.2 million soldiers in the war. That isn’t insignificant.
