I think Canada is taking the lead on the technology. The USA is reverting back to coal.

We get a lot of propaganda about how environmentalists are anti-technology and want us to live in lean-tos and wipe our butts with tree leaves.

When in fact, environmentally friendly technology is generally cutting edge and our “traditional” fuels are fossil in every sense of the word.
