I could very easily such groups committing (or attempting to commit) purges or massacres against their perceived enemies - especially if/when they feel they’re losing control.

Basically, if Trump loses re-election in 2020, yeah, I could see these groups trying to start some shit.

I don’t think so, except for a handful of loonies like we have already seen, such as the Vegas shooter who turned out to be an anti-government terrorist. Most of these people have high incomes and lead comfortable lives; they may talk a big game, but they aren’t going to give their lives up to join terror cells and become fugitives.
