re: #768 SixDegrees

Both of ours were delivered without any painkillers. The first was awful, with the wife screaming and yelling for hours, eyes and neck veins bulging…I mean, damn.

Three minutes after she delivered, she was cooing at our son and asking - I’m not kidding - if I wanted to have another one. I think there’s some massive flood of endorphins that saturates the brain following delivery and turns it into a foggy, not unpleasant memory, because if there weren’t we would have long ago died out as a species.

The second one went way better. Broke water, popped the kid out half an hour later, almost before the doctor got there. Wife immediately hopped out of bed and made a beeline for the food tray they had left, scarfed down everything on it and asked for more. Practice, I guess, makes perfect.

the cervix/vagina is a remarkable little mechanism eh?
