So now it is a P.R. trap for the U.S.A. too?

We will have to send one of the carrier groups over to make sure that neither Turkey or Iran follow through on their threats to escort ships through the Israeli blockade. We would be there more to prevent a shooting war between any of three than to unconditionally back Israel’s blockade policy (even though we do, so far at least).

I guess now we will be the bad guys if this happens? Even though we are only trying to prevent open warfare between Iran, Turkey, and Israel? (Iran has submarines too btw, could get rather dicey).

It’s time for Obama to stop being invisible about this.
Turkey has become a major problem and it’s time for action.
I don’t mean military action, I mean hard ball diplomacy.
Obama shouls have a meeting with Erdogan where he explains that the US will either :
a) Propose the ejection of Turkey from Nato
and/or
b) fast track Israel’s inclusion in Nato

That’s about the only type of diplomacy that might get through to Erdogan.
