They need to restrict this equipment to State police forces or at least County Sheriff Offices. There’s no reason every other little town police department needs a SWAT team and MRAPs.

There needs to be a massive demilitarization of law enforcement in general (and about a million other reforms to the way things are done as well), but baby steps here.

The problem with that is, these guys in the armor and carrying the weapons are from the county. It’s not the Ferguson PD.
