The judge might decide that this case is just too good to keep to himself and pass it off to the CA federal court to decide. That’d be the best case scenario for Chucky (which also means that Chucky’s hopes of circumventing the anti-SLAPP law will fall apart and where the potential costs to Chucky soar - where in reality it’s his worst-case outcome: all together now, AWWWWW). The judge could alternatively dismiss the case with prejudice (which would actually be the best case situation to Chucky since he wouldn’t face further legal costs, and his lawyers would avoid issues as well).

Put simply - the outcome Chucky wants is actually opening the door to the worst outcome for him. The outcome he’s seeking to avoid is the one that will end with the least damage to him and his pocketbook. Up is down and all that.
