We could put the voter rights and the undocumented resident question to bed once and for all by institution a nationwide ID card: one for citizens and one for legal resident aliens, to be shown when voting, opening a bank account, registering an auto, applying for social benefits or enrolling children in public schools.

It would end all discussion about voter ID or undocumented workers, and cost a lot less than building and maintaining a wall around our country.
