The biggest problem with the “secret Trump voter” theory is where a large enough block of new Trump votes could come from.

The hypothesis is that there’s a block of voters that either sat out in recent elections or voted for Obama that are newly attracted to the Republican party because of Trump’s campaign.

This is farcical on its face.

This is basically a version of the “missing white voter theory” that’s been haunting the right since at least 2004, or maybe 1984 (counting the Reagan Democrats as such). The problem is that they keep forgetting that, among other things, Republicans are generally older and thus more likely to need Ouija boards to cast votes in future elections.
