The story was never that he disclosed that the source of the intel was Israel, just that the source was likely Israel. The first thing you explain to a client when they’re going to be deposed is that you answer only the question asked, nothing more, nothing less. The reason is simple, you’re more likely to get yourself in trouble by mentioning stuff that wasn’t even in the realm of interest for the questioner.
