I think that’s what has me frustrated. That this is gonna be a motherfucker recovering from. This is our new era. We’re imo not going to change this all over night especially because our political culture still needed changes even before Trump came along which gets me at why I get frustrated with Biden and he should know better as Obama’s former VP.

This is the thing that keeps me from being ok with Biden as the nominee. He’s actually outright unlearned the lessons that Obama learned the hard way, that Republicans will pounce on bipartisanship as weakness and simply stamp their feet until they get their way, because the environment lets them. The arcane rules of the Congressional floor, the insipid credulity of the media giving the GOP and only the GOP the benefit of the doubt at all times, and their state level dominance, which the national Dem party seems to have zero answer for, basically lets them spit in the face of any sort of comity and win anyway.

That Biden is relying on exactly that comity to win the day if he’s elected is going to basically mean the GOP get to run roughshod again with zero consequence.
