According to the FOX article, this preliminary study is on the heels of a Chinese study which was fully peer-reviewed and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, which noted the same result as the Indian study (about 1/4 to 1/3 of the infection rate of those who do not wear glasses).

The Chinese study notes they had a very large pool of people to study whilst controls (people without glasses) were harder to get, because 80% of the Chinese population has myopia (I didn’t know the figure was that high).
