I’ve been all over the world at one time or another. I consider myself to have good insight into, and respect for, other nations and cultures. There is an exception to this, however. I am very squeamish about food. If it’s not Texas-Mexican home cooking, I am at least suspicious of it. I know, the Aztecs made tacos out of those disgusting little hairless dogs of theirs, but that was a long time ago. They gave up that and human sacrifice at about the same time, which seems fitting to me.

OK, I’ll admit that Philly, Chicago, and NYC have good grub, too, but most other places are neolithic camp sites or cannibal warrens by comparison.

As for English food, I think the great explorers like Drake, Hawkins, etc. fanned out across the globe and started the British empire mostly because they were looking for something decent to eat.
