When we call these guys “conservative” we are making two huge mistakes. First you don’t let an abuser define a term of phrase like conservative. All this does is let the critics accept the mal definition for their own diminutive purposes.

Second, the GOP is essentially stolen goods at this point.

Good luck with that and welcome to my world. This is exactly how moderate Muslims feel about terrorists and other extremists and they are a much, much smaller percentage of the whole than extremist right-wingers. Yet we all get tarred with the same brush because these asshats cherry pick the bits & piece of Islam that suit their agenda (and ignore the rest) because, hey, it’s all part of Islam, it’s a Muslim problem. etc.

Yeah—it is, but it isn’t. It’s an extremism problem and it damned sure isn’t limited to Islam or Muslims.
