I continue to believe that Trump’s behavior since taking office, of trying to rush everything at full speed before he’s even finished seating his cabinet, is indicative of the knowledge that he’s working against the clock. That he knows something, whether it be his taxes, his business relations, or (in this case) evidence of collusion with the Russian gov’t was going to come out and it was only a question of how long he had before the other shoe dropped. I now strongly suspect that he knew Flynn was compromised, very likely is compromised himself, and his present situation makes jettisoning Flynn difficult because Mike may choose to turn evidence to get his ass out of the fryer.
