From everything I hear, if you guys have snow that actually accumulates, your whole state shuts down. We have an entire squadron of snowplows dedicated to keeping the runway at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport cleared in the winter. They run all 8 of them abreast, the runway cleared in a single pass, and then the plane departs while the trucks reset for the next plane.
In my part of California, if we get an inch of snow (happened once, in 1976 — didn’t melt for a couple of hours), things grind to a halt.
