Here’s my understanding about the shy Trump idiocy: the polls at the time were actually more “Ya know, he has a real shot at this”, and the shy Trump voter was waaaaay overblown.

Do I have that right?

The national polls were actually REALLY GOOD.

The state polls were not balanced right, but if you go back and look you see they were really squishy in the post-Comey mess. “shy Trump voter” simply did not exist.

I spent the Sunday before the election writing a post at GOS about how the polls were better than Nate was claiming. I was so embarrassed that I never posted there again. But it took me a lot of arguing to make that case. This year, the only polls that look bad are the grossly biased ones. FL is getting close, but PA really is not. And what looks to be happening in turnout argues for polls to be undercounting Dems.
