re: #77 Targetpractice

Heā€™s acting in the grand tradition of ā€œmoderateā€ politicians: Moaning that the people who voted for him actually expecting him to stand by the things he said are ā€œunreasonable.ā€ In this case, balking at the idea that being ā€œpro-choiceā€ might mean putting the brakes on the state budget until those items that are a total attack on a womanā€™s choice are removed.

He actually takes the ā€œRepublicans have no agencyā€ fallacy and makes it a political statement.

ā€œFirst, it is not my bill,ā€ Sununu said at a forum in June. ā€œIt is the Legislatureā€™s proposal. And 43 other states have similar clauses, including Massachusetts and New York, who have almost the exact same law. No one is screaming at them. Do you want me to scrap a $13 billion budget for this one item? I will not do that.ā€

Narrator: Massachusetts and New York have no such provisions. Like all conservatives, heā€™s a liar. He also signed it, so itā€™s his bill.

He also said the ultrasound/grandparents provision was only added at the last minute, for varying values of ā€œMay 2020.ā€
