You’re absolutely right but wouldn’t it have been a better sign for the future of everyone if the caption train had read:

IDF troops surround the house.
The civilians surrender waving a white flag, the terrorist hidden among them.
The civilians identify the terrorist.

Followed shortly by: IDF had to regretfully announce that these civilians were hideously tortured and mutilated after being identified in this video.
