Define culture of fear for me.

The one where the daily news — local AND national — keeps telling you about household items that can kill you, and strains of this and that which will kill you, and every other bit of paranoia and fear that they stoke.

The culture where brown people, gays, Muslims, liberals, Democrats, health care, George Soros, Snooki, and globalization are blamed for every social ill, and for, in the immortal words of South Park, takin’ yer job.

Stoke enough fear and paranoia in people, and eventually, the more gullible and/or suggestible among them will start to legitimately feel threatened and disaffected, lashing out violently.
