I’m going to put this out here…

Christianity for black people is different than Christianity for white people. That’s not even getting into the issues with the Southern Baptists. Yes, slavery is the reason.

For black people in the United States, Christianity is simultaneously the source of hope and fear.

I’ll admit freely I don’t understand all the nuance of various Christian sects and those who are part of them. Same with other religions like Islam or Hinduism.
