yup - the current “intellectual left” in Europe shares many characteristics with the Nazi movement. you have to read a bit of history, but the similarities are there. just look at any “free gaza” or “anti-war” protest. there are two constant themes - anti-Jew (the “Zionist conspiracy”) and anti-America.

Not to hijack the thread, but Strauss pointed this out - the best minds of the 20th century fell into Nazism lock stock and barrel. It wasn’t necessarily that Nazism was so compelling as it was that modern thought was so weak and impure. Heidegger, a staggering demi-god of intelligence, was a hard-core Nazi well after the end of the war.

Strauss noticed it, others did too: something went horribly wrong in Western thought some time ago.
