At this point, the only plausible explanation for Trump’s actions is that he’s got Bannon whispering in his ear that all he needs is the base, he can win on white guys alone. He just needs to gorge them on red meat, so much that their eyes turn crimson, and they’ll show up in numbers large enough to sweep Comrade Combover to the White House. After all, this is exactly what the wingnuts have been telling themselves for years now: “Romney would have won if white voters hadn’t stayed home!”
