Remember, American Exceptionalism means that we do not have to obey international law when it is in our interest not to do so.

Liberals need to take back the term “American Exceptionalism” from the nihilists libertarian conservatives.

American exceptionalism in my mind is the idea that (though rarely implemented fairly) any person can be born here or come here and improve their situation. The ideas that all men (and women) are created equal. The idea we are endowed with inalienable rights.

All those things conservatism throughout history has rejected.

While we’re at it, maybe we can grab back “pro-life” as well. It is a shame the movement for reproductive rights didn’t grab that one first.
