When Nixon was president, he looked absolutely invincible, until he didn’t.

When Reagan was president, he got into his second term before his mind left him. But for a time, he looked absolutely invincible.

When Bush the Lesser was in office, he looked absolutely invincible for a while. He wasn’t. Karl Rove came out and bragged about a permanent Republican majority. Didn’t happen.

Rule One of Republicans - they always over-reach. Always. And Democrats are always there to clean up the mess.

Again, not to be a downer, but “Whatever doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger.”
