Lebanon, I think, is a fascinating example of how you (after considerable unpleasantness), hammer a functioning nation out of a dozen splintered religious and political groups. Some of what they’ve got in place boggles my mind, but they seem to be holding the whole thing together very effectively.

I don’t know how effectively with the influence of Hizbollah.
