The social upheavals we discuss don’t follow nice, clean boundary lines like our logical arguments - they intertwine, become entangled, and produce unexpected outcomes.
The SoCon’s battles against limiting population and the secularization of education are linked, and growing more so I think.
Then, this overwhelming concern about becoming rich - and that is what that NC sea-level rise fight is about, namely, role of real estate flippers to be unencumbered by the future - get’s intertwined with the population discussion, as both are linked to national wealth/GDP.
It all gets wrapped up into a big, sticky, yucky ball of nationalistic, mammon-lovin’ religion.
What a mess.
