Hmmm, tomorrow is some Islamic holiday called Ashurah. Watch out.

I was in Iraq during Ashurah in 06, the beat themselves with whips until they bleed. It is an observation to mark the memory of the beheading of Iman Ali (whose followers became Shiites) by the Caliph (whose followers became Sunni).
It is a lot of noise, whippings and eating… not much more.
