How the fuck are you going to convince an entire group of Palestinians to stop fighting you at bayonet point? Anything short of invading Gaza is considered Israeli “surrender” to you. They are called negotiations because they involve negotiating. Oftentimes that requires a quid-pro-quo.

By your metric, 48% of Israel wants to “surrender” to the Palestinians because they support the cease-fire and a return to negotiations.
