re: #795 Occasional Reader

Um… someone other than a Law Enforcement Officer who is standing by a polling place with a billy club in his hand is, by definition, “menacing”.

Can I weigh in on this? A man standing outside of a polling place, wearing the paramilitary uniform of an organized violent racist hate group, is menacing and intimidating even if he’s not carrying a weapon of any kind. I hate to mention the KKK again, because the KKK is not the same as the Black Panthers. But if a man were standing outside of a polling place wearing a KKK hood, carrying no weapon at all, that wouldn’t be okay either.

It’s true that this event didn’t change the outcome of the election. But it’s still completely unacceptable.
