My thoughts about this are too complicated for a comment, suffice it to say I am cautiously optimistic that this will lead to a better future for Cuba. More thoughts here.

The other point is that we have not “given” anything to Cuba beyond reopening our embassy there. To hear people complain on the Net it is like we just lifted the embargo and instituted foreign aid payments…
