re: #68 wheat-dogg, raker of forests, master of steam
Your comment reminded me of an observation I made during our 5 1/2 month snowbird trip to the lower 48.
Driving on the Interstates, I noticed a lot of auto/truck and recreation vehicle (RV) dealers. I was astonished at the size of the inventories of unsold vehicles that a majority of the dealers were maintaining. There were multiple auto/truck lots that had to have over 500 car/trucks in their inventory. Same with the RV dealers. Many had over 150 Rvs that were unsold. And these were expensive ($100K +) models.
I have questions:
Who’s going to purchase all these vehicles?
Have American consumers tightened their belts?
Have the manufactures over-produced for today’s market?
Is this an indicator of a slowing economy?
I guess time will tell.
