That may be true, but I look at it through the lens of the times (and its social norms and stereotypes) that The Flintstones was created in; it was more or less an animated version of The Honeymooners, set in the Stone Age.
I still enjoy them every now and then if I’m channel surfing.
It *was* an animated Honeymooners. But I generally despised the Honeymooners main characters for the same reasons Dectatur Deb mentioned.
Beyond that H-B led the charge to cheaper animation effects and, in my opinion generally produced dreck compared to Warner Bros, etc. Plus they made Tom and Jerry talk. :p
