I feel the need to weigh in on this myself, before I go off to start my day.

Every president in recent history has had no problem with firing up his 747 and flying across the country and back, just so he can make an appearance at five fundraising dinners that line his own political coffers, and those of his allies.

If Obama wants to whisk his wife off for an evening trip to New York in a much-smaller Gulfstream III, that’s fine with me.
