She can read Adam Smith — but not the modern expurgated version of The Wealth of Nations that leaves out all the non-free market stuff.

I stress those aspects of Adam Smith a lot: namely that markets are a mechanism for balancing supply and demand while directing flows of capital to where they are most beneficial, and not some divine Natural Law or end in themselves.
