I agree with Boot but does he really believe that the Republican Party is horrible just now? Does he really believe that the problem is Trump? Trump is the symptom of how debased Republicans have become but even after he is out of problem, Republicans are still going to be a racist mess.

It’s a generational thing.

Earl Warren was a Republican. There used to be a whole faction of that kind of Republican. Nixon was a crook, but he’s a crook who did EPA, OSHA, Title IX, Title X. Gerald Ford was the single best-on-women’s-issues of his generation. The first senator to stand up against McCarthy was Margaret Chase Smith, Republican fro Maine.

The Republican Party hasn’t always been what it is today; and it doesn’t have to always be.
