This goes along with my thoughts regarding gold-hoarders. When first money no longer exists because of some apocalypse, your gold ain’t edible.

This was one of the arguments I always had with my fellow libertarians when I was much deeper in that movement…

They’d argue against fiat currency and how it’s not backed by anything. And I’d point out that gold is only valuable because we say it is. But really, it’s just a shiny rock that thousands of years ago, we decided was valuable and could be traded for things. It broke a few brains, but usually not enough to get them to realize how dumb it was.
