re: #78 Hecuba’s daughter

Watched Dune tonight on HBO MAX and loved it! I read the book 40(?) years ago and recalled practically nothing of the plot but was able to follow the film without trouble. My vague recollection is that the book was not as straightforward as this adaptation — but maybe I’m wrong.

I read Dune after seeing both the Lynch and SciFi versions of it, and it was far easier to follow than I assume it would have been without those (imperfect, but OK) guides. I still haven’t had time to watch the new one. I don’t feel that movie theaters are safe enough yet*, and I haven’t had a few hours of free time that matched with the huge TV in the living room being free yet. I’m not watching that on my phone or a PC.

_{*Basically I’m of the opinion that if it’s still a really good idea to wear masks out in public, then “entertainment” is an unnecessary risk.}
