I admit that a good deal of this is on an emotional level, which is extremely bad in International relations.

But why do you keep talking about it as though it’s something that’s happening to someone else? This is your mind. You can control your thinking. You can say “Hey, I’m doing the exact same sort of collective punishment that the Serbians did to the Bosnians— I don’t want to do that”. You can, when you find yourself thinking in group terms, stop yourself.

You don’t appear to think you can, or to try to do so.
