I’m going to stick up for Killgore here-it is not generally appropriate for a community to ban a fast food franchise because the owner has certain political beliefs.
Except that doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. A couple of mayors who weren’t actually threatened with Chick-Fil-A outlets ran their mouths. Would it be proper for them to ban Chick-Fil-A outlets if they had a chance? Probably not. But it was a symbolic gesture that took on huge proportions with people who couldn’t stand how popular the boycott was getting.
