I kept trying to think of something to say to go with #VeteransForKaepernick, but it was hard to get into a tweet.

I don’t really care for the national anthem or the pledge. I don’t like traditions for the sake of traditions and I don’t care for reciting things just because everyone else does. They don’t prove anything. I see too many people recite the pledge and do nothing that shows to me they understand what they recited.

Plus, I don’t really care for pledging an allegiance to a flag.

I’m sure you are very familiar with the term “going through the motions.”

American’s are real good for that kind of thing. Go through the motions with everyone else and you are good to go as you fit in.

The comments about Kaepernick that I think are amazing are the folks that say he has every right to do what he is doing, that is what all the wars were for.

And then they rip him up one side and down another because he is taking part in all that freedom.
