Obama could have been a poster child for the American Dream: namely that anyone who works hard enough can rise to the highest office in the land regardless of their racial or social origins.

But that would have meant acknowledging, however begrudgingly, Obama’s efforts and accomplishments, it was more convenient for them to portray his as someone who got in through Affirmative Action, buying votes with free stuff, exploiting White Liberal Guilt, and of course, forging his birth certificate…
