Tourist season on the Middle Rhine is shot. I even got a booking for August, but I find that almost too optimistic.

I am hoping things might come back in September/October at the earliest, not the cruise ships full of US & UK retirees, but in the form of “locals” (from neighboring metropolitan areas of Frankfurt and Cologne) who don’t want to risk flying to distant locations.

Maybe we’ll see a little spike in domestic tourism - the Czech government is mulling over a program to increase domestic tourism within the ČR to help out the ailing tourist/hospitality sector, which has pretty much collapsed, hitting some of the UNESCO cities here particularly hard (they’re big international tourist attractions)
