Below is a little taste of what it feels like to be Muslim in America right now. Below are the 20 Google Alerts that came in Friday related to anti-Muslim hatred. I have alerts set up for probably 30 or so of the worst hatemongers as well as another 30-40 for various politicians, law enforcement, anti-mosque controversies, stuff happening in Israel, etc. Keep in mind that each of the hatemonger alerts contain, on average, anywhere between two and about half a dozen links. I don’t even read most of the articles because they’re too toxic.

They churn this shit out non-stop every single day of the week. I’m not asking for nor do I want anyone’s sympathy, what I do want is for my fellow Americans to acknowledge what things are like for us right now and “stay woke” about the dangers. BTW, today’s Google Alert count is at 15 (so far).

And that’s just the web—it’s not counting print periodicals, TV, or radio. Now you know why I never turn on the TV. //
