I think you have to step back a level. Why do they believe these economic arguments so easily, and believe Trump when he would contradict himself on a daily basis? Why not believe Clinton when she had fully formed plans, was consistent, and obviously knew what she was talking about?

They’re not naive: they’re very selectively naive and very selectively cynical depending on what they want to be true. Straining at gnats and swallowing camels to preserve their predetermined worldview. They will change when reality hurts them or their families personally, but I fear not anytime before that.

We have a local newspaper that only is pro-Trump and anti-Clinton. We only have radio stations that blare right wing blowhards. Clinton plans or proposals were not printed in the local paper except when I wrote, and they will only print one letter a month from a reader, limited to four hundred words.

Pretty much only one reality is presented here. That’s part of the reason I so passionately argued for people to come campaign here because there was not another message.

Back to when I came here: How could you be a disabled veteran, you’re a liberal!

This is how propaganda works. Trump threatening to ban the press from the White House is actually bad, because the only people who will get access to him is his propagandists.

Then the stenographers that make up the press will be quoting “reporters” from Breitbart or Stormfront on ABC or the Washington Post, because access is so much more important than journalism.
